The headwaters of the Green River

I spent a lot of time this summer around the Green River Lakes area, or the ‘Upper Green.’ I saw Kokanee salmon, moose, eagles, and hundreds of cows in this glacial valley. The northwest-facing slopes around the lake are one of the few places in the Wind River Range where I saw Douglas fir trees, reminding me of the coastal forests at home. Throughout the summer, the water turned a familiar turquoise color, reminiscent of lakes in the North Cascades and a reminder that a few miles up the valley lie the Monmouth, Minor, and Sourdough glaciers. This piece is a compilation of all my time spent around this river and I had a lot of fun making it.
